Turntable Customs

It has been a while since my last post! Lots of new updates and work being done but I will save that for the very near future. What I am posting about today is something that was introduced to me by a friend, Turntable. Recently on Google Chrome, an addition for the site/game was created to allow for custom avatars on the site so people could be more unique and less of a standard face. Seeing this fresh wave of customs come through the game I realized that an alarming number of them were just cropped photos. For anyone that isn't familiar with Turntable avatars they are simple characters done in a very clean and cartoony style. After seeing all of the photo avatars I decided to take it upon myself to start creating some avatars and while I was at it, I was going to have fun with it. Buddha Comic Cover

One of my latest side projects I have worked was a mock comic cover I did for a friend of mine who is known in hushed whispers on the internet as DrFaulken. He told me a story about a desk pet he used to have, a praying mantis named Buddha. He was a fearsome warrior who took on not one but two black widows. Sadly he did not survive the later encounter but to be fair he had no idea what he was facing. The black widow had been conditioned by have its eggs smashed in front of it and being starved for a week before being unleashed on Buddha. Needless to say the end of that was not good for poor Buddha so I honor his memory I made the following mock cover for him.

Working on a few new sketches for potential creature ideas down the road.

New Creature

As some to most of you might know I have been working on a series of illustrations in which I combine two or more animals to try and come up with something interesting. Well today I have a sample of the latest idea being worked on. Let me know what you think and what I could possible combining it with.
